NVQ LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA ADULT SOCIAL CARE

National Vocational Qualifications in England and is the equivalent of Scottish Vocational Qualification. NVQs have been the mainstay of British educational frameworks since 1986 and have taken different forms over the years, for example, the regulatory bodies changing, the grading criteria and the list of subjects offered.

This course is suitable for registered managers, care managers, assistant or deputy managers, senior care workers or supervisors, nursing staff, care coordinators and team leaders.

Entry Requirements

Entry to the qualifications will be through Our centre assesses prospective candidates through interviews, and prospective learners must demonstrate the qualification requirements and access required assessment opportunities and relevant resources. Prospective leaners should undertake initial assessment activities to ensure that they meet the criteria for the qualification. Thus, they can achieve the level they will be studying before enrolling in learning the programme.

Assessments

This diploma is a competency-based qualification where the candidates are required to gathers substantial evidence as they undertake their regular work role to form the basis for their portfolio. Collected evidence must reflect on the policies and procedures of the workplace as stated by current government legislation. Ideally, candidates must work with at least two service users during the duration of their qualification. Our assessors use various assessments methods to examine work products, expert witness testimonies and direct observations. 

In addition, you will be assigned an assessor who may visit you at your workplace at some point and undertake observations. Meetings with your assessors are planned to minimise disruption to your work routine to collect as much information as possible in one visit. Knowledge-based units will be assessed using various methods, including reflective accounts, projects, assignments, assessor questions and professional discussions. Candidates will have full access to assessor support via telephone, email, Skype, and web links.

This NVQ Health and Social Care qualification is usually completed within six months. You will have full uncapped support for 12 months.

Study Method – Distance Learning

Course Duration –This course provides 200 guided study hours; however, it is recommended that candidates complete this course within a period of 12 months to gain full support from our tutors.
